Is the houseboat rate per person?
No. The rate covers the whole boat for one night, including the crew, fuel for the usual route and all meals on board. GST is added on top. Extra guests beyond the cabin capacity are quoted separately.
Where do we board the houseboat?
Most boats leave from Finishing Point or Punnamada in Alappuzha, about 1.5 hours by road from Kochi airport. Kumarakom boats board near the KTDC jetty. We share the exact jetty and a crew contact number after confirmation.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Overnight cruises check in at 12 noon and check out at 9 am the next day. Day cruises usually run from 11 am to 5 pm.
Does the houseboat cruise all night?
No. Government rules require houseboats to stop cruising at 5:30 pm and anchor for the night. The boat cruises again for a short while after breakfast.
Are the bedrooms air-conditioned?
Yes. Deluxe boats run AC from 9 pm to 6 am; premium, luxury and ultra luxury boats offer AC in the bedrooms through the stay.
When is the best time to visit Kerala?
October to March is pleasant and dry, and is the peak season. The monsoon (June to September) is lush, quieter and cheaper, and is ideal for Ayurveda. Christmas and New Year book out early.
Can you arrange vegetarian or Jain food?
Yes. Tell us at booking and the cook will prepare pure vegetarian, Jain or child-friendly meals. Seafood such as karimeen and prawns can be added on request.
How do I pay and confirm a booking?
A 30% advance by UPI, bank transfer or card confirms the boat or package. The balance is payable on arrival or before check-in. You receive a written confirmation with the boat code.
Do you arrange airport pickups and taxis?
Yes. We provide sedans, SUVs and Tempo Travellers with experienced drivers from Kochi and Trivandrum airports and railway stations. See our tariff page for day rates.
What should we carry on the houseboat?
A photo ID for every adult, light cotton clothes, a light jacket for the evening deck, sunscreen, mosquito repellent and any personal medicines. Bedding, towels and drinking water are provided.
