These Terms of Service apply to all houseboat cruises, tour packages, hotel stays and vehicle services booked with My Kerala Holiday. By confirming a booking you agree to these terms.
Bookings and payment
- A booking is confirmed only after we receive an advance of 30% of the total and send you a written confirmation.
- The balance is payable before check-in on the houseboat or on the first day of the tour.
- All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR). GST is charged as applicable.
Houseboat rules
- Check-in is at 12 noon and check-out is at 9 am. Cruising stops at 5:30 pm as per Kerala government regulations.
- Guests must carry a valid photo ID. Life jackets are provided and must be used on request of the crew.
- Loud music after 10 pm, illegal substances and swimming from the boat are not permitted.
- Damage to the boat or its fittings caused by guests will be charged at actual cost.
Cancellation and refund policy
- More than 30 days before arrival: 90% of the advance is refunded.
- 15 to 30 days before arrival: 50% of the advance is refunded.
- Less than 15 days before arrival or no-show: the advance is non-refundable, but may be moved once to another date in the same season, subject to availability.
- During peak dates (20 December to 5 January, Onam and the Nehru Trophy Boat Race) bookings are non-refundable.
- Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7 to 10 working days.
Changes and force majeure
Routes may be changed or shortened because of weather, water levels, lake closures, strikes or government orders. In such cases we will offer an equivalent alternative or a fair refund for services not provided.
Liability
We act as an agent for houseboat owners, hotels and transport providers and are not liable for loss, injury or delay caused by their acts or by events beyond our control. We recommend that all guests carry travel insurance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Alappuzha, Kerala.
