Best Time to Visit Kerala: A Season-by-Season Guide

Kerala is a year-round destination, but each season has a different character.
October to February: peak season
Dry, sunny days and cool nights in Munnar make this the most popular time. Houseboats and hill resorts book out for Christmas and New Year, so plan two to three months ahead.
March to May: summer
The coast gets hot and humid, but the hills stay pleasant. Rates drop and it is a good time for Munnar, Wayanad and Thekkady.
June to September: monsoon
The landscape turns intensely green and Athirappilly falls are at their most dramatic. It is the best season for Ayurveda, and houseboat prices are at their lowest. Onam and the Nehru Trophy Boat Race fall in August or September.
